Is a toilet roll with a bit of straw in it good??What is a good toy that i can make for my pet rabbit??
At my rabbits cage I have a small chew toy which he loves because he has to jump up to chew on it. Plus you should give something he can chew on because as you probably know their teeth grow. I tried the toilet roll with straw and my baby got bored. What is a good toy that i can make for my pet rabbit??
Krystal our rabbit loves to play with regular cardboard boxes she throws them around hides in them and redecorates by chewing holes and leaving little bits all over the cage.
Small pieces of untreated wood with a small hole in the center. Run a stiff wire through the center of each piece and loop it through a small bell or several small bells. Run the wire back through the wood pieces and twist at the top around a key ring. Hang the key ring from the top of the cage. Your rabbit will love to chew on the wood pieces and pat it around to make the bells sound. Make sure it hangs far enough down that he doesn't have to always stand on his haunches to reach it though.
This way when he eats all the wood away you can just add mor to it and the bells always keep him interested. You can also dye the pieces with vegetable color and let them soak in a bowl of water and a slice of orange or apple or other type fruit for flavor.
It is just like the ones you see in the store but more fun to do your own.
They will like it with hay inside...you can also put some birdseed or dried fruit inside as a suprise treat.
If you have a weeping willow tree, you can weave little wreaths and hang them from the top of the pen and they bat it around and chew it. Its safe to eat. Also, any pesticide free fruit tree branches are fun for them to chew the bark off and play with. My bunny loves pear branches.
Also, they like playing hide and seek in little buildings, like a simple cardboard box with a ';door and window'; cut out. Put the solid part on top, and they will climb up and down, and chew and bounce. Just take off the tape or staples.
One thing another Y/A bunny lover taught me is that you can use natural twine to hang pieces of fruit or veggies from the top of the pen, and they have to stand up or climb to get the food, and that is fun. Or bury apples in their bedding. My bunny also loves to make nests out of little pieces of old sweatshirts I cut up, and he also likes playing with stuffed animals (just make sure they don't have button eyes or anything they can choke on).
Isn't a bunny just the coolest little pet? I have dogs, cats, and a bunny, and Boo Radley (the bunny) is so grateful for anything, and is just a delightful, cuddly little dude.
Get some orange material shape it into a carrot and stuff it.Then have it dangle over your Rabbits cage.Or tie a string over it and drag it around good play time for both of you plus good exercise.
A tin measuring cup. My rabbit loved them.
